As the fiscal director, Mike Huffaker oversees budgets, forecasts, the child support contract, Edison role approvals, ACT year-end reconciliations, interdepartmental reports, position counts, and staff supervision within the fiscal division.

Mike began his career as a performance auditor in the Division of State Audit at the Office of the Comptroller of the Treasury, where he attained Auditor 3 status. He later served as a budget analyst in the Department of Finance and Administration, initially implementing performance-based budgeting in the executive branch. He transitioned to the role of operational analyst, working with law enforcement and judicial departments, as well as regulatory departments. Most recently, Mike held the position of Auditor 4 for the Single Audit in the Division of State Audit.

Mike graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a B.A. in Political Science and a master’s in public administration. He became a Certified Government Financial Manager in 2018.
